It is becoming increasingly common for people to represent themselves in family law matters with the assistance of an attorney to guide them through the process. This is typically called “unbundled services.” What that means is that Sherman Law Office, LLC, would assist you in some specific aspects of your case, without taking full responsibility for it.
Unbundled legal services can be a good way for you to get assistance in your case while keeping control over the overall cost, and only using our services when you need them. This can include as little as having me review an occasional document, to having me draft documents or discuss your case with an opposing attorney or party. With prior agreement, it can also include me entering an appearance to represent you in court. My unbundled services can be as much or as little as you choose.
Some of the family law services offered “unbundled” by Mendel Colbert & Associates, Inc. include:
Preparation of qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs)
Drafting orders in family law matters
Reviewing files and offering second opinions
Assisting clients in drafting their own pleadings
Reviewing and helping to formalize agreements reached through mediation
Helping clients prepare to attend a hearing without an attorney
Appearing in court for one hearing or on one issue
Assisting with discovery (depositions, interrogatories, requests to produce documents)
